adapter for double cardon joint?

I have a 83 cj7 and have put in my SOA lift which went well up intil this point pretty much. I bought a front driveshaft off a XJ with a double cardon joint to take place of my old and now way to short stock rear one, but at the end with the cardon joint the strap holes dont line up with the stock yoke of the transfer case. Is there an adapter for this or some other solution? thanks.

You'll either have to get an "adapter" type U-joint, or get a driveshaft/transmission shop to make or order you a new yoke. The latter is my recommendation because you may not be near a place that carries the special U-joints if & when it goes.

You can find the CV shaft (double cardan) yokes at Tom Woods or sometimes on eBay. Keep in mind there are yokes of different depths (length).

Should be a 26-spline 1310 double cardan yoke...I just bought one from **** off Ebay for $40 last week...you don't need anything custom, this is an off the shelf part that any driveline place can get for you...it's a standard Spicer part (I used to have the part number written down somewhere) and you could actually use the one off the XJ the shaft came from. You'll be switching from straps to u-bolts.

is it possible to get a yoke that would fit my stock output shaft on my TC spline that would bolt directly to the double cadon.

Yeah.. just look for a 26 spline CV yoke. Stock XJ yoke will work, as will a front Quadratrac yoke.
