ACME hardtop and doors for CJ7, experiences?

Wondering what the quality and fit of this aftermaket top and doors are like. The doors have glass top and bottom. If anyone has pictures of either of these on their 7, I would like to see them as well. Thanks...

I have the doors, they are great. Nice for looking out over the canyons in this area.

Those look really cool. Are they hard to get ahold of/expensive?

Another question: should these (used) be priced as high as used factory tops and doors. I have a lead and want to know if $750 is a decent price for doors and top. They look great.

BTW happydog, those doors look great on your CJ

Thanks mcmud

Just a comment on the slider door windows on the Acme top - they don't allow much airflow into the cab because they don't open very far. I have the Acme CJ5 top, and airflow was really poor until I put a sunroof in - then it was just poor. It was a daily driver that I could not safely leave topless or unsecured while at work, so I had to keep the top on and locked up. Replacement parts are difficult to find, as they have been out of production for quite a while. Otherwise, the quality is pretty good. I've had mine since '91 and it's still in good shape.

I will vouch for quality. I have a full size top for my Scrambler and was trying to put it on by myself one night. The thing slipped and fell over the "sport bar" and landed the driver side edge on the ground (full weight of the top falling around 5-6' onto one side). A few scratches and that was it. I was expecting busted glass, shattered fiberglass, something...but it held up just fine.

I just recently purchased a set of the doors for my '78 CJ7. I have noticed that the windows are different on each. The drivers side has a 1/3 - 2/3 slider, while the passenger side has a 1/2 - 1/2 slider. The window latches are different on each as well. I will be posting pics of each later. Has any one encountered this before?
Also, I need to replace the 2/3 section of glass on the driver side door, does anyone know of a site with replacements? Or even where I could get the entire 1/3 - 2/3 slider assembly for the passenger side?
Thanks.

I recently picked up an Acme CJ7 top and doors from a fellow forum member in PA and I could not be happier with it. Quiet, well-insulated, warm. I prefer it to the OEM top and steel doors without question. Here is a photo. Not sure I will keep it the grey color but it certainly will suffice for this winter.

Can anyone tell me if the factory hard doors will fit the acme hardtop. It's a cj7 and when I try to fit it up I have to let the top overhang the back of the tub. I have tried adjusting the doors but they seem to be too big to fit in the opening. I just sold the acme doors and realized I probably messed up.
