Accuracy of Stock Temperature Gauge

Are there any specs on the CJ stock temp gauge. Mine has always run toward the H side but always in the green. Should I be concerned, or do they have enough design margin (i.e. read a little high) that it be considered good enough to protect the engine.

Mine ran slightly above half to pushing red on the gauge for years, then I got new cores for the rad that they said were 25% more efficient than the old style ones and they seemed to be right because the gauge then went to below the halfway point.

I just added a mechanical guage to go along with the stock guage. Using a 195 thermostat and when the mechanical reads about 200 the stock is slightly more than 1/2 in green.
