? about narrow-trac and wide-trac

ok obviously the wide track is wider than the narrow trac but ho do I tell which one I have??? and is there any differences besides width? 1980 CJ5 304

I do not know the exact widths off hand but I believe that that it is like 51 and 58 inches. I could be totally wrong so someone else speak up.
As for the CJ5, if you have the original axles in it they are narrowtrack. Jeep never sold the CJ5 with the widetrack axles. HTH

narrow track - 53"
wide track - 56"


narrow track were used from 72 - 81 and wide track from 82 - 86.

Those are good numbers for the front axle. The rears will be 50.5" narrow and 53.5" for wide.

What HE said, Scott.

Either way, widetracs are 3" wider overall (1.5" either side).

And, yes, the rear axles are narrower than the fronts.

Hey, Scott, you don't happen to need any widetracs, do you?

(I just happen to have a pair for sale!, LOL!)

Well my Brithday is tomorow night and we are starting at 7:30pm
spaghetti dinner and all the fixins' cake etc. so bring on over the axles and ill let ya eat
