'86 D44 wheel studs?

I have a stock D44 out of an '86 in my '80 CJ7, and need to replace the wheel studs. I went to the local parts stores (Autozone, Advance, and Napa) and they all point to the same piece for that application, with no accounting for the AMC20 v/s D44 differences. I tried them just in case and got no luck... just slightly too big.

What would be the best application for wheel studs to work in this? Do I have any options other than just taking a dial caliper and catalog to NAPA?

That may be because the two do share the same brake/drum parts......But I've never compared the wheel studs. I would press an old one out and carry it in to the auto parts place.

My AMC 20 and D44 were the same. When I swapped in a '74 D44 I used my '81 AMC 20 studs.

Mine are definitely a little larger... calipers don't lie. I wonder if the '74 and '86 D44's are the same?

Anyone have any info on what shafts they used to make the ones for that axle, as it is a unique application for just part of that year, right?
