86 CJ-7, First Jeep!

Just picked up my first jeep.

It's mechanically sound and drives good, its aesthetically pleasing but if you dig a little deeper, the body is far from perfect, frame is solid front to back.
(I'm in Canada so salt exposure usually makes sure they're not)
138xxx original km's on 258 I6, T-5, 32"BFG M/T's (85 xxx Miles)

Haven't put it on the road yet but can't wait to, i take it for a tour around the farm every chance I get!

Will Post pics in a day or two.

Very nice. Pictures please when you get a chance. Did you get one with the Dana 44 rear? What does it have for gearing?

Looks very nice and you get the better electrics of the later models and maybe even Dana 44 axles.

The body looks a bit rusty but you have long dark winters with nothing better to do, right?

yeah its dark by about 6:30 now unfortunately. I don't have my own shop but my mechanic is a good friend of mine and he said I could work on it in his shop and then he'd safety it and everything.

Thanks, over the winter I'm thinking 2.5" lift and wheel spacers, I'd like a little more clearance as I plan on wheeling it as much as I can, but we'll see what happens.

Welcome to the party, 44 rear is a great start. The problem with a Jeep for most is it's always just a start, doesn't matter what it is there is always something else you want to do or atleast that's the case with me. Come to think of it though it's not just with the Jeep.

Good luck.

Looks like im either investing in a new tub or redoing the floors and 2 body mounts... found a fiberglass tub with slight damage for cheap, any suggestions?

at mopar346,
I can guarentee that this will be a constantly changing jeep for as long as I own it, which will hopefully be a lifetime
