84 CJ7 blower motor upgrade

I have read many posts about upgrading the blower motor, here is some information about my experience, I installed a NAPA 655-1039 the motor case is 3-3/8". Which meant the hole in the firewall was too small, I used a 3" conduit Greenlee Knockout punch making a 3-5/8" hole(very clean). If you don't know what it is ask an electrician. You have to center the punch closely because you only have 1/8" clearance per side. The new motor test sheet it came with said the motor turns at 5,000rpm, I tested my old sometimes very noisy motor at 3,200rpm, a substantial difference of 1,800rpm. I definitely have much better defroster performance, I think when I have it on heater only the air blows thru the core to fast not warming the air as much. It helps to warm up the interior then I lower the speed to get it real warm. I also installed a new 195 degree thermostat at the same time. This is a worth while upgrade plus I was unable to locate a stock motor locally.
