Is it just a grill cover? You can still buy those.

Hello John,

Yep! It's the chrome grille cover... but I want OEM...

I've found this one on eBay ...>>> HERE <<<

Is it REALLY OEM ?

I've found too on morris4x4 (the same,(they say MOPAR too)) but most expensive... >>> HERE <<<
what it's worth?

And I'm a little bit afraid about the shipping... holes/rips and so on...

And what's worth the Crown (for quite sure)Bezel headlights ? >>> HERE <<<

Regards,

Gilles

how hard is it to ship into France from the US?

I would be willing to send you a headlight bezel and chrome grill if you could find it. And any other OEM parrts you need. I have quite a few spares.

Let me know

Ben

I don't know about the grill being OEM. My chrome grill has factory pinstriping around it. It's off an 84 Laredo version. Not sure what the optional chrome grill might of had. I know mine had adhesive strips behind the cover and used 'well screws' to hold it in place on the top in lue of the usual rubber bumper.

You have to remember there was a huge copyright law AMC used to keep anyone else from making aftermarket grills so anything you find will probably be "OEM" I think the 7 slot grill was actually copyrighted, not sure.

Thanks John,

I've chated with morris4x4 about the chrome grill: it's OEM from Jeep So I've added it in my wish list and hopping there will go NOTHING WRONG during the shipping

You're right about the stripe around the grill, I've it too (check the 2nd pic above):

And here some details:

So I'll do it again... may be with paint (but not sure there is a good grip on chrome)

Regards,

Gilles

no, paint on chrome =

you'll want it done with pinstriping tape.

Hello Ben,

Thanks for your help !!

It's not hard to ship (but a little bit expensive due to the shipping and custom taxes) to France... but Postmen are VERY rough...
They have done a hole in all new gas tank, ripped a bumper protection ...etc...

Thanks god, morris4x4 refund me every time

I'll tell you if I need !

Regards,

Gilles

It was the second option... and it become now the first

I'm a little bit lucky : the thickness is in metric measure !!!: 0.5cm : easy to find in France...

Regards,

Gilles

Some update,

A shipping from US arrived yesterday ...

The rear leaf springs 6 blades ...

And yeah ... I discovered that my CJ (aka Ma´tÚ) is ~1/2" leaning at the rear (front nothing) ... and this is due that the old springs have NO
more exactly the same shape => buying new!

And now the masterpiece:

A chrome grille OEM cheers

Exactly the same (guess which is which)

Is missing the sticker that goes around the grille ... and >>> HERE <<< it is (grill stripes)

The MOPAR ref:

Finally the bezel headlight, the inside boot of the tranny , the OEM diesel engine bushing (they are exactly the same as those I have)
and finally the straps holding the doors ... when I'll be there ...

headlights bezel in detail: PERFECT ...

and finally the Fender Flare Kit ... (Rugged Ridge) NOT CROWN

It remains for me an order ... I keep it to the end ...

To be continued ...

Regards,

Gilles

Gilles,

Those parts look nice! I can't wait, until I'm able to start spending my monthly allowance on mine. It's interesting that you call your CJ Ma´tÚ, I haven't seen that name in a very long time. Our family in Arles had a very good friend named Ma´tÚ DuBocquet, and she was a sweet woman. She passed away in 2003 at the age of 83, if I remember correctly.

Migh E Tay, although the "ay" sound is a bit different, but we really don't have that sound in English.
