few small pieces are finalized and are back home ...

Your eyes will be warned that parts are missing ... some issue after applying the varnish so they will repainted ... again..

The rest are in various phases: sanding, priming, customer validation ...

The sealant/puty? on the hood cover ... are the remains of your servant ... who believed he could walk on the hood without problem...

in fact ... NOT AT ALL !!!

The grille (in sandwich between a rosbeef Triumph TR6 wings ) has a minor recovery and it comes back home !

no more "warts" turn signals...

The lower tailgate also has small a recovery (tire carrier punch)...

the windshield has "worked" a lot in the sheet metal work ... but nothing unrecoverable 8)

Anyway, it feels good end!

To be continued ...

Regards,

Gilles

I see there an early OEM windshield frame. They didn't have the reinforcing hump towards the bottom just above where the seal rides. When did AMC/Jeep add the lower hump? I know the new replacements now have humps both at the bottom and in line with the wiper pivot stampings.

'85 CJ-7 Laredo currently under construction.

Well... in '84 the windshield comes with the lower hump:

Mine is from July '82...

Don't know about '83 ...

Gilles

Some update!!!

Main pieces are back in Olympic White !!!

The engine hood was finished too... but a breezed (not sure of the word, "coup de vent": wind blast may be...), when I was preparing its place, screw it again ... So back to the bodyshop...
I was maaaaaaaad/sick ...Nothing serious: but I'm not sleeping for one night about this...

The dashboard harness overhauling is completed. I've done a (french) write-up of the complete operation (+~250 pics) >>> HERE <<< >>> HERE with Google Translate <<<
Not sure it is usefull for US people: it's a OEM diesel harness... but I think some things are common ...

, I'm starting, now, the rebuild of the heater and air control...

BTW Thanks to the ~30000 readers

Regards,

Gilles

Nice work on the dash harness.

Love Google Translator, "candle preheater." ?
guess it's the glow plug for the diesel.

Where did you get these schematics?

I love them.

Hello John Thanks!

You're right : it's the glow plug!

The schematics is from the French TSM CJ7 aka "MR 239" (MR for "Manuel Renault" : Renault Manual)

unfortunately, there is only the Diesel harness

Gilles

After some kicks on the camera AND battery refilled ... don't know what's the usefuller ?

Black it baby!!!

some details...

ONE exception : WHITE in the inner part of the light under hood in order to have a better reflection/efficiency AND better design:

That's the french touch LAREDO option !!!

Every pad pedal will be, of course, replaced... I've allready the pads for the brake et clutch... which fit/look like OEM...

but I've not ordered the accelerator pad: I'm a little concern about it looks like... does the OMIX-ADA are right AND OEM ? do you have better choice ?

Regards,

Gilles

Got you beat on that one Gilles, had mine Nickel plated along with all my Torx dash, roll bar and differential cover bolts. Now that's the American way!

Hello Keith, very glad to read you again !

I can't (and want not) beat you : YOU'RE THE MASTER

as we say in France, I'm a small player in comparison to you...

anyway, it's always time to sandblast it again and chrome plate it... ... just kidding: I like the bicolor design !

...I'm still looking for a solution about the chrome plating rims... NOBODY does it in EUROPE... I starting to seriously consider the chrome painting...may be...

and any opinion about the accelerator pad ?

Regards,

Gilles

Don't forget paint isn't a good ground.

remove a little paint and use internal star washers. Dielectric grease can be used on ground connections also.
