81 cj7 wiring id???

HEY, i WAS TRYING 2 FIGGURE OUT WHAT THE 2 WIRE PIG TAIL GOES TOO THAT EXITS THE TAIL LIGHT HARNESS AT THE TOP LEFT REAR CORNER OF MY 81 CJ7, RIGHT BEFORE IT GOES THROUGH THE QTR PANEL/ WHEEL WELL FLOOR, BY THE REAR ROLL BAR MOUNT. THANKS

I think it is hard top connection for dome light or rear defroster. I have the same but no top.

Connect the test light across those two terminals to see if the circuit works.

When you turn your headlight switch dash light dimmer to full+, the lights should go on.

If you connect one test light lead to ground, one side of the terminal will be hot., the other side not do anything.

IF you connect one test light lead to Battery (+) the other terminal will light up when the headlight switch dash light dimmer to full+. This is indicating the ground connection in the headlight switch is closing.
