Found them, thanks! I also applied. I go up that way all the time. I hunt every year up above big tree's and camp at hell's kitchen when ever I get a chance.

Stan99 if you hunt up around black springs and cabbage patch we've probably crossed paths in the woods. We are up there every year during archery and rifle season.

I am sure we have. I am up there for the opener of archery for the last 2-3 years. Cabbage patch is a hot little place but to crowded for me. That doesnt keep me out of there though. Whats the road 7n09?? I have been going up there trying to stick a bear for the last few years but no luck. What about you, what kind of luck have you had??

we usually see bears when we don't pull tags for them and nothing when we do. we've done alright for bucks, nothing to be too proud of. we hunt a pretty wide area from west point over to highway four.

It looking good. Now you are on to all the pain in the a** work. There are so many little parts to clean and paint. But it is worth it when it all starts coming together. Keep it up!!

MNcj7guy, I am gonna run it to see what it is like. It was a strong runner b4 the fire. I have no exp with the drive train and I am curious. It has Detriot lockers front and rear running 3.73 gears. The dana 300 used to have the 4-1 gear reduction but was messed up by the PO. The dana 300 is in stock form right now. How is yours set up now and how does it run?? Sparky

looks good. the CJ frame is infamous for breaking, cracking and being very weak. My 81 frame has many cracks. look very carefully for them. especially near the body mounts and where the leaf spring shackles go to frame. i'd even beef up those areas now since its all easily accessed-- better now than later.

good luck!

I haven't got mine off the road much at all. It is my daily driver for now, and really rusty. I have 3.54 gears and can get up to 60mph, but that is about it maybe 65 down hill. This winter I actually had to replace the first 151. That one was really a dog. 50-55 tops and it did not like it. Fortunately my uncle works at a salvage yard and happened to have a good running one at the lot. He installed it for 500 including the engine. Floridazed has the 151 in his too that he is having rebuilt and bored over. It will be interesting to see how much of an improvement it gives. Just nice to see someone else on the forum who still has the 151

mb, The frame is in real good shape. No cracks anywhere. I agree with beefing it up now. I thought I saw a strengthening kit for the cj frame but can't find it now. The kit looked pre-cut which would be good. I can weld but don,t have the tools to fab things.....yet

mncj7guy, I wonder if there is a five speed tranny that would fit between the 151 and the dana 300. I think I will ask the question on the main cj page. That would make the rig a little more Hywy friendly!! -Sparky-
