80 CJ5 body on 74 CJ5 drive line

Is their any reason why I couldn't put a 1980 body on a 1974 CJ5 frame? I'm thinking of ways to get my Jeep running faster, and this would be a great way.

The frames for the pre 76 are different than the post 76.

78 cj w/74 frame

I replaced the frame on my 78 cj5 with a 74 frame. You will need different gas tank. The 76 and up frame widened out at the rear. The 74 width stays same front to back. I had to add some extra fiberglass and extend and shorten a couple of the body mounts (I have body lift kit too) Those are the main two things I remember. It will work though. Why do you think the jeep would be faster though?

Temporary thing. My 5 is currently a bare frame. If I could just drop my body on this frame it would be great. I don't think I am going to go threw with it though. Just going to do a tube buggy off the drive line in the 74. Because the body in it is trash.
