79' Silver Anniversary restore

I got a 79' CJ5 "Silver Anniversary" which I am restoring and want to rebuild the engine. It's a 304. I've read where it's better to get a 360 and redo it, but I want to keep the 304 so everything matches, but would like to improve it's performance. My question is, what do I need to do concerning the:
1. Heads
2. Carburation
3. Cam
4. Pistons
5. etc.
