The good news is that it looks like you arent too bad off. Put it on jack stands under the frame, roll the axles out from under it, and go to town with a stack of cutoff wheels. Cut off everything the PO welded on.

I agree, I don't think there is nothing there that a pack of cut off wheels won't take care of.
The bottom of the perch looks OK.
He will need a new plate with the shock mounts on them.

I love that wedge to adjust the axle angle...

i can cut weld and grind myself, anything i dont trust myself in doing, i can ask any of the veteran welders in the shop i work in to help me out.
knocking out the blocks and that Z angle thing they put on should be easy. the one that connects to the shocks!

what im gonna have trouble with is finding out where theyre supposed to go!
also, what do i do about these?
is it suppose to look like this?

It would have been like this:

The rear shocks would have attached to a stud in the spring plate like the front.

Cut off everything the PO welded to the axle. Leave only the spring perches that are shown in spottedfrog's Picture.
Getting it back to stock, and Safe, will actually be easier than you think.

A 1/2" grade 5-8 bolt will work just fine for the shock mounts.
