Well, still waiting on the lift to come in so just tinkering around looking for trouble. I took off all of the diamond plating which was riveted to the body, thank God for crowbars.

Much better w/o the diamondplate. Whats your plan for those areas now? Crusher corners maybe?

I'm thinking about eventually patching it up and paint it. Haven't really looked into alternatives. Any good corner armor you'd recommend?

Got the RE 4.5" lift in today. Got everything ready to go tonight. Hopefully will get around to having the lift finished up tomorrow. Also plan on removing the body lift and replacing with body just mount bushings if I have time this weekend.

Sorry for the delayed update guys. Been working a lot lately. So, got the lift and new wheels installed:

Tub cleared out and roll cage cut out:

Behind dash is a mess:

New Dash:

Stopped on dash here due to deciding to rewire everything. Anyone used one of those "Painless Wiring" kits they sell for CJs?

Ok, so took the fenders off to try tube fenders out. As you can see, the slider was welded to the body...

Any ideas for covering up those front wheel wells?

where are you in La? i think that I would cut the inner fender out of the original fenders. Yours are in great shape though, do you want to trade?

Did you look over my shoulder? My '7 and dash is painted with bedliner, but the gauge surrounds, glove box door, and oh snap handle is gloss. Nice lookin Jeep to start with. I'm at about 5000 into my rebuild.

could you measure your dash for me? from edge to edge, I need to buy a new one and can't find them for the intermediate, so I think I'm gonna try to buy a blank for 76-up if it will fit.

Thanks-Bill

I love you CJ5. What kind of lift do you have on it as it sits? 2.5" shackle?

How are those front shackles working out for you? I've not seen any that long on a '78 before.
