'78 CJ 5 V8 T 150 >bellcrank orientation<

Greetings all, "Black Betty" my venerable ole CJ spat a clutch pivot ball a couple of weeks back and, as I work 7 days per week, had a local shop replace the entire assy. Got it back yesterday and the clutch pedal will only fully raise to rest position, a couple of seconds after release. Crawled under "Black Betty's" skirt only to find the bell crank appears to be installed backwards with the grease zerk facing forward. I seem to recall it facing aft. Does anyone reckon this could be where the fault lies?

Yes, mine faces aft also. Never could figure out why it did.

This is modified somewhat to fit on a Fiberglass tub but the idea is the same.

Here's how mine went together:

They probably swapped ends with the Z-bar.

A lift of the lynch lid to John and Hack Fab. for your kind, quick responses. Between work (7 days) the bike, and my van, I don't know weather to sh@t or go blind. Special thanks for the pics Hack Fab. I see that on my rig the return spring (outer) is not hooked from the release rod to a frame rail bracket as yours is, rather, it's hooked on the ear of the throwout lever and an extrusion from the clutch cover. (Would post pic if I knew how).

Don't rely on my install (other than the Z-Bar), because I've got a Ford 5.0L/Ford T18 combo that was installed using MORE mounts. Everything had to be Hack Fab'd out of the OEM CJ parts....
