77 CJ7 Dana 20 Tcase shifter probelms

My son has a 1977 CJ7, 304, with Dana 20 t-case. PO had swapped in AMC TH400 so shifter tube(?) has been extended. What holds this into the case? Im going to pull the mounts and drop case down so I can see it better, but just wanting some info before I do this, so I know what to expect. And it has 20 years of grease and grime accumulated, lol

I recently cured my D20 shift problems. I installed a twin stick.. End of problems. It is worlds better than the OEM Rube Goldberg setup Jeep came up with.

Well, finally got time, dropped skid plate/mount down, found that tube is held into t-case by 2 bolts. In this case they had just backed out. Tightened bolts, modified shift linkage and we're ready to wheel again!!
