77 cj5 T18 tranny identification??

I bought a 77 cj5 with a 4 speed tranny. It has T18 1B on the side of the case. Since the motor was out I marked the input shaft and turned the driveshaft. One turn of the driveshaft gives 6 1/2 turns of the tranny Input shaft in first gear. Did I score the holy grail T18 granny transmission? Any input is appreciated.

Yes, you scored the holy grail of the t18's.

Measure with a Micrometer
Cutter with an ax
Beat it to fit
Paint it to match

Great!! That's awesome. How rare are they? ? I know most of them that I see for sale are 3 speeds. Thanks.

all the t18's are 4 speeds. the difference is that most had the 4.(whatever) first gear. few had the 6.32 super granny low yours does. congrats.
now just get a pass offset rear axle, dana 18 transfer case, and a Saturn overdrive and you'll have 8 forward and 2 reverse gears to play with!

what i meant by 3 speed was that most of the jeeps that i have seen between 76 and 79 year models came with the 3 speed and not the t18. How rare is it to find one with the granny low t18 from the factory? I didn't know thats what i had until after i got it home.

Rare enough that a CJ t18 goes for about a grand and a CJ t150 3 speed goes for about 150

That's debatable and it depends on where you are at I suppose. I've never paid over $500 for a CJ T18, and the one I did pay $500 for had a documented fresh rebuild and had the Tcase still attached to it.
