If you mean that there is 2.5" between the sides of the shackle for the spring to fit into, that is not wide enough. A shackle for a 2.5" wide spring will have 3" between the sides. You have to remember that the bushings have a shoulder on them that also has to fit in the shackle, not just the springs.
100% right i had to get yj hangers 3" opening. I heard of guys bending out the cj ones but didnt like the idea of that.

I think add a leaf is a must .. Does my shackle look okay ?? This is under full wheight..
