I was wondering if anyone else has done the Weber conversion. I just started yesterday evening after work and kind of confuse. The adaptor doesn't look like the correct one. The one they gave me has four holes that would mont to my intake. However, my intake only has two studs. I would think this would cause an air leak or even worst fuel leak. Can anyone shine a light for me here? Also, I would like to double check here what vacuum hoses I can plug, remove and need. Any advice would be great. I called the factory and they told me to call back today @ 9 am EST. I just thought I would ask a real jeeper who has been through it. I got the Weber DGV 32/34 for an 84 Cj 150. I also broke off some kind of sensor that bolts to the intake in front of the carb mont. It was yellow. Anyone know what this is so I can get a new one? :help:
The adapter is most likely correct for your application. Single throat with square base mount and a rectangle carb mount.
Use the two opposite holes. You have the opportunity to mount the carb with the fuel horn facing the front or to the left side with the later being my preference so the adjuster screws, vacuum nipples ez access from the front of the jeep and the float will then be side hinged.
Yeah, Mc is correct, the adapter (I used to deal these kits for Piercemanifolds) can turn either way and you just use two holes. It wont leak, the gasket will seal up and two holes just kind of hang off the side.
We would put them on slant6 chryslers
You can turn it either way, the best way would be with the fuel line going to the front. But we've mounted them sideways as well because of linkage issues. But your kit should have that all worked out. Good luck. If you need help tuning let me know...they are great carbs. Did you get electric choke as well?
thanks. yes this is the adapter that I have. I have it all hooked up except the fuel line. It's not long enough so I guess I will finish tom. The kit tells me that I have a pulse air system and that I would have to drill two holes in the top of the air cleaner. I really don't want to do this. Can I just plug the tubes or do I need them? I just plugged them on the 84 eagle I had. It never ran right though. I really hope this works cause I have had it since last Aug. and I haven't been able to get her running good since I got it. Really want to do some wheeling soon. I will let you know CRJ if I need help, which am sure I will.
We always just plugged the tubes... never a problem- Good Luck!
