4.3 vortec swap

I have an 83 7 4.2 258, and was planning to install the mpi kit for performance at all angles. But to buy kit, rbld 258 and install is more than a 4.3 v6 out of a 2k blazer with around 10k miles on it, and throwingin the auto tranny w/ it would still be cheaper.so I ask if any one has knowledge of the complications involved,or the 2k vortec setup itself. any info would be greatly appreciated

I have 3 friends that have the Jimmys with the 4.3 Vortec, and they have nothing on my 4.0L in my 96 Cherokee. The 4.0L has more power and response, and even they agreed. Check into a 4.0L swap, don't know how easy it is, but you'd have more power than the 4.3 Vortec (in my humble opinion). If it's not possible, I personally would do the 258 upgrade.

Get ready for the opinions to flow!
