ok, this is the BLM file from when it was around 150 degrees temp but still faltered and died (then restarted). it ran for around 45 seconds max between the first startup and the re-start.

Wow, that's almost as bad as reading hex/dec. I think what 86CJ meant was to attach the files, but jeepforum.com won't allow CSV or XLS files to be attached.

First make sure your configured for correct ECM. mine is set for 16144288





Then when datalogging, get rid of RAW data by unclicking it in the "log Data" box


I prefer to take the *.txt/csv files and import them into xcel. I took your post and tried to do that here

BLM data
and
DATA log less raw data

Hope this post works

Great progress!
The golden numbers you're looking for on the BLM map is the 128's. I see some 142's and 158's in there which indicate a rich condition. Are you using the knock sensor from the donor or the CJ? I used the donor knock sensor and removed a block plug and used it there with a thread reducer. I understand your frustration in not finding the text files after saving. The first series of numbers relate to the date, so write them down as you save. You can also bring the BLM into Excel and convert the data into a spreadsheet, making it easier to find. Sounds as though your temp sensor is working correctly, does the temperature logged match more/less the gauge? If it does then I would think it is good. Keep plugging away at it. God bless.

Alright this is where I get confused and haven't started programing yet. I thought BLM's above 128 are showing a lean condition being corrected for, and as long as this number is +/- 10% your doing good.

As to motomikes numbers, I see some problems
1. its only a 2 minute run
2. closed loop malflag
3. lots of BLM enable flags
4. knock/esc malflag

I know its on the internet, so it must be true. http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/faq/BLMINT.html

jon, my temp gauge reads about 10 degrees colder than what the computer is seeing, so i believe its close enough to be alright. it never exceeds 200 one either medium, so its gotta be alright. and it does not seem to ever hit closed loop, so thats interesting. and jeepardy informed me that i need an addition ESC module that i do not currently have wired into this setup. i did not see it listed by bill on binderplanet on his write up of things to use, so i wasnt aware of needing such an item. going to the yard today to grab one to wire it in, and hopefully get rid of this esc code. also, not sure what exactly is causing it, but ever since i hooked up the aldl connector and the knock sensor (btw its the factory one from the yj 4.2), now when its cold it dies every time it drops to "idle", so it has to be restarted like 6 or 7 times be4 its warm enough to keep rpms high enough to catch itself from dying completely. grrrrr. but hopefully this added module will fix something. ill post updates later and also an updated BLM log. thanks

My Satty goes into closed loop as soon as it sees valid data from the O2 sensor. It's a 1 wire sensor and doesn't take too long. Well before its up to temp. Around 120 or so its CL already.

It's important to find out if he is still open loop when up to operating temp.

this is one of those trick hologram pic's right?, if i stare at it just the right way and long enough i can see the jeep attached to a 100 mile long electronic unbillical with a main server at the other end, based upon the terrain you can flash software changes to the algorhythm base line so engine management can can control the "precise" ignition/fuel delivery of the advanced, high revving, state of the art cutting edge technology of the 258 I6. hey mike, throw a new $300 carb on it and an hour later take it out on your favorite offroad trail with cold beer and your buddies.

naw. got too much time and money wrapped up into this. he wont go carb ever again. thanks for the thought tho. and yes i do have the stock 1 wire o2 hooked up and it seems to read just fine.

you will prevail and end up with a project to be proud of. im pretty sure what your learning will count towards a college degree. with this forum and it's members absolutely anything can have a successful outcome. how about posting a video of the end result, ie cold starts, hot starts, revving and driveability and how the installed system looks in the engine bay. id really like to see,hear the benefits of this mod. hang in there.
