I notice you left out the dust shield between the block and the bell housing. Was that intentional?

while Im still working on my motor swap I used the factory Cj sit brackets. I cut the Xj sit bracket and welded them on the CJ brackets. After getting them bolted in I don't have much room under the steering wheel whit a 13 1/4 in steering wheel. im thinking tilt steering. what all involved with that.

4) XJ harness grounds to CJ ground
5) [optional] switched power from ignition switch to XJ harness (for emissions equipment)

You can hook up the engine and wiring without any of the emissions equipment, and it will run, but there will constantly be DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes) set in your computer. At the very least, I'd recommend installing the evap canister...

I also recommend downloading and becoming familiar with the Factory Service Manual.
ok i got steps 1,3,4 i need step two you think you could help me out with color code, wires you use or possible pic of where you spliced in the two harnesses. im lost.

Are you working off of a good wiring diagram for the 97 harness you are using? I have done several 91-95 harnesses but never an OBDII. If you link or upload the wiring diagram, you can get your answers real quick.

On the CJ side, step 2 is the large gauge (14?) red/white that used to feed power to your Ignition module on the drivers fender.

On the XJ side, step 2 is the blue/white that feeds into the under hood fuse box. There's actually about 3 or 4 of these that are all spliced together at the PDC. Circuit F12 in the FSM.

Also, if you want the radiator fan relay in the PDC to control anything, you need to hook up #5. It's the same Red/White feed from the CJ. It goes to the white wire on the XJ harness, circuit F20 in the FSM.
