35in Tire, axel what???

what kind of axels would you guyz recomend if i wanted to put 35's on my 81 CJ-7 with an I-6

the stock "axles" if upgraded properly will work fine. stick new 1-piece shafts in the AMC20, the D30 front is decent but you might brake some u-joints, if you upgrade to the warn shafts up front(or have dutchman or someone make a set)with the larger u-joints it will hold up fine.

For 35's i would stick with the 20 and just stitch weld the tubes and install some superior one piece gears. A truss wouldnt hurt either.

The front, i would just ditch that 30, have a waggy 44 cut down 4 inches, use ford hubs to get the bolt pattern and you will be set. The d30 r&p gets tooo smalls for me in the taller gears. And with 35's you are probably going to be looking into the 4:56 to 4:88 gears.

I would also get the superior one piece rear end and the front super 30 kit you can get these for a pretty good price..

amc 20 -- $235

dana 30 with arb -$750

thats one heck of a deal for two pretty good axles once that is completed!!!
