304 timing

Anyone out there have a pic of the timing marker; the piece of metal that is pointed to show that marker on the harmonic balancer. I see the mark on the balancer but I don't see the part that has the numbered markers.

If you are looking at the motor from the front, it would be the balancers 10 o'clock. (passenger side)

Is yours missing?

It is under the alternator.
It's very hard to see. You may need to de-grease and use a flashlight to find it.

What year is that V8 timing cover? My '76 V8 has TDC in the center.

Yes, same location. Look for the notches sticking out.
