304 Cylinder Head Sadness

So I completely rebuilt my '79 304 two years ago. I then bagged it on the stand and pushed it into a corner of the garage and continued with my body-off-frame resto. Just got everything done... frame, axle housings, springs, and brackets powder coated, gear change to 4.56, t/c rebuilt, trans rebuilt, brakes ALL new, stainless everything.... on and on. Fired up the motor and started going through all the checks that you know you do with a fresh motor and then I see it... a few drips from the front corner behind the p/s pump... heart stops! Must be a loose bolt from the t-stat housing. Nope! Head is cracked! Ahhh! I had this thing cleaned, blasted, and magged. Did everything to heads like valves, guides, springs, retainers, surface, mild porting, and paint inside and out. So bummed. Call the machinist, Surprise! He went out of business, wonder why?!!! Did some checking online and found two other poor souls who had 304 heads crack in the exact same place. Must be a casting flaw? Anyone have a 304 head crack here? Anyway... does anyone have a good, rebuildable 304 head they don't need or want to sell? Found a few local and online but they are all rebuilt and want to sell a pair. Any advice or tips?
