304 Air Cleaner Housing for Edelbrock 4 Barrel

This info and the photos are in the thread titled " Carburetor Spacer for
Edelbrock Performer AMC ". Thought I would post this as a new thread since
this is more of a new topic.

I ditched the open air cleaner and found this air cleaner from a V8 Dodge full
size van (94-97 I think) that fit the Edelbrock carb fine and cleared
everything.

This really helped almost eliminate the fuel odor in the garage when I pulled
the Jeep in and did not affect performance as far as I could tell. Now I need
to fab a cold air intake tube.

Air Cleaner housing part number: 53008275

Air Cleaner Duct (angled plastic adapter) part number: 53006259

Air Cleaner Element: Purolator A40004 (NAPA was closed Sunday)

What do you mean gas odor When you pulled in? I do not see how the two are related.

I would like to know where you found the parts. I searched the part numbers for the the air cleaner and adaptor, and couldn't find anything.

The gas odor was from the engine compartment open air cleaner and the
previous carb (Edelbrock Performer 600cfm mechanical secondaries) probably
was not helping.

FYI - I am using the proper fuel filter with the vapor recovery and all the
charcoal canister connections are hooked up except for the carb fuel bowl
vent because the Edelbrock carb does not have a bowl vent connection.

The part numbers were stamped into the air cleaner housing base and into the
plastic angled adapter. I ran across these items on eBay.

Check 94-97 Dodge full size V8 vans.

I have two of these air cleaner housings and the one in the garage has a
sticker on the top of the "snout" with the numbers 53008275 and 1762B.

The number stamped in the bottom of the air cleaner housing "snout" is
53008277.

Just about any 70s-80s V8 air cleaner housing would work. They all used the same 5-1/4" carb throat opening.

Thanks for the info colojeepguy & CSP. I liked how this air cleaner housing is
somewhat a low profile design and it fit great. Another plus is no emissions
connections / hose hook-ups other than the one for the oil cap.
