Got the valve covers that I painted on. Got a pair of Hedman truck shortys with the 02 sensor bung welded in. They actually fit pretty decent with room on both sides for starter, driveshaft and clutch linkage. The driver's side one doesn't look like it will be too bad to tighten up, but then again I haven't hooked up the clutch linkage yet. I lifted the tub up on wood blocks b/c I want to remove it soon, so I can get on with cleaning up the rest of the frame. Is there a way to edit the titles to these threads so I can make it my Jeep build thread? thx

Coming right along my friend.

You might be able to talk one of the mods into retitling your thread, otherwise you may need a new thread.

Thanks Jim, I may try that. I've been watching your build, you have amazing fab skills. Have you hooked up your driveshafts yet or you still need them? and exhaust?

Not sure you can edit a thread title.
Those headers look exactly like my Summits- ceramic?
That is one purty engine.

Thanks who knows how long it will stay looking clean though..I got these headers off my buddy, they say Hedman and I just hit them with the high heat silver header paint. I would love to have them ceramic coated but the costs right now for that probably won't allow mw to buy other things I need.

Thanks for the kind words Rob. Not far enough along for the driveshaft work. I want to have the full weight of the rig together before I make them. Think I'll scrounge through the junkyards and get some 1350 yokes for a start that way I know they'll hold up well to a heavy foot. Exhuast is coming sooner. Might just load it up on a trailer and take it to a shop that bends it for you.

I'm sure you'll be surprised to hear that's what I did. Buddy owns a muffler shop- very convenient.
And I still can't get a wrench/socket on that top bolt/nut on the flange and turn it.
I can send you some of my engine paint if you'd like- I call it "Pennzoil".

Been stripping the tub down the last couple days. Got the track bar on, tierod, sway bar with new bushings and extended endlinks on along with the steering stabilizer.

Yea its going. Too much rust and rot for me to deal with. I got a solid YJ tub as a replacement.

Here's an example under the rollbar

Wow- that was a fairly substantial chunk of metal at one point.
Got all your tub swap options dealt with? Defroster, tailgate, and fuel filler hole are about all of them.
But I'm sure you've read 50 tub swap threads already.

Yea and the 2 body mounts right? I already have the hole drilled in the pass. side for the fuel filler and Im going to cut the latches off this tub and weld them onto the YJ tub for the tailgate, but I hadn't heard about the defroster mod needed. What's involved with the defroster, do you mean the vent opening needs to be cut bigger? thanks

Here is some backround info on my Jeep in chronological order before I started to tear it down

This is how it looked when I got it

Traded it for these even up:

Found another tailgate and stripped it down, painted it.

Found some older style hard doors and painted them

Put on a tube bumper and added a hitch

Added some diamond plate to the sides to cover some rust

Stripped and painted the diff covers

Put some 15x10s with 35s on it sold the old wheels

Added a Rugged Ridge HD box mount

Filled some holes

Added a shackle lift

Found some half hard doors and eventually painted them

Took it wheeling a couple times

Painted the hardtop

Fixed some rot

That is about it up until I started getting parts for the engine.
