302 ford fuel lines

Cleaning up my jeep, I have a 302 ford with the mechanical fuel pump. I know that I only need the fuel supply line, What should I do with my old return line..

Option 1. Use it
2. Delete it, then what should I do with the fitting on the sending unit where the return line goes.

Just put a filter on the end of it and mount it high and you will never have the gas pump click off when pumping.

I'd just use it as a return line. I figure the benefits of it helping to prevent vapor lock would be good reason to keep it. It's already there anyways!
