I too know of some 300's with over 300,000+ miles on them.(but I still don't have to like them)

But we also have SBC's at work with almost 300,000+ on them. One of them is my personal truck,(I bought it off of my employer). These are all 3500 cab/chassis trucks that have had the crap ran out of them, and pulled trailers twice as heavy as they should have.
Ever had to change the plugs in a newer OHC V-8. I watched our Fire mechanic one time. Half the centers pulled out.
I like my 7.3 PSD.

the triton v8's you mean? We have two '07 triton v8's (both had the engines pulled out by ford with only 40,000 miles cus the plugs and the removal tools broke off in the head (great work ford ! )

I send them somewhere else, I make sure I have too many good trucks to work on. OR find a welding/fab job to do when any of the fords need worked do on Or find a reason to go on a service call .....(one advantage of being the shop boss)

We have one 7.3 left it has been a good one, 284,000 on it and never had the valve covers off. We did replace the turbo once, (the lil warm up valve rusted apart)(that's what I call it anyway)
