I would get a dropped pitman arm as well. make sure you adjust your tierod and drag link ends after install. Get all the right tools, plan for the best, prepare for the worst. Might want to get new u-bolts for the front and rear ends, change your driveshaft u-joints to new ones, get some new bolts for the shackles, rent some acetelyne torches, start PBing every bolt you plan to touch.

T4 and T5 are the same tranny, just 1 more gear, same weak to medium transmission, but better than a SR4. I presonally like the T5 for the OD, but that is me.

Instead of doing a drop pitman arm, I would go ahead and do a tierod flip. Around the same price and plus you gain clearance for your tierod and drag link. Not sure if this is going on a CJ5 or CJ7 but you may need to modify your driveline. Meaning t-case drop or have your driveshafts modified. I have the Black Diamond 3" lift on my 78 CJ 5. My rear driveshaft is a little steep but I don't have any vibration and I have flexed it until I was floating 2 tires. So it seems alright. If it's on a CJ7 you may be able to get by without any mods. Not sure. I have stock length shackles as well. The kit should have came with new u-bolts and all new bushings.

Grinder ( or something to cut ubolts off with)
Impact
penetrating oil
at least 2 jacks stands, prefer 4
jack
some friends (goes easier)

Good luck let us know.

why buy a bds 3" kit just to put 1" shackles on it and make it a 4" kit?
why not just buy the 4" lift kit?

also BDS and black diamond are not the same.
