I am considering doing this. I need a new exhaust system anyway. Headman makes 6 into 1, and a 6 into 2. Which would be better performing. I don't plan on putting dual exhaust on. I am also considering a weber 2 barrel swap also. The main reson for this header swap is to remove all my smog junk because it is no complete anyway. We son't have emissions control here in Iowa so that is not a concern.

I did a search on this topic before posting and nuttin. Nadda, single thing. Anyone ever put a header on their inline 6? 232, or 258, 4.0?

Go to site for Clifford Research. They can make your 258 run like a V-8!
Yes I stand corrected, but it does say Clifford Research on the intake manifold. It might be and older one.

I've heard the 6 to 2 and it does sound Real Good. If you don't mind extra expense of the pipes I'd go with it.

I have the Hedman 6 to 1 headers and they worked perfect. Felt a decent gain from them and saved money by only having to replace one side of exhaust instead of two. After considering it for a little while I really didn't see the need for 3 exhaust ports to have their own header, the stock heads don't flow that much.

Id say 6 to 2 headers
i have that setup on my wrangler plus a 2 1/2" double exh, system(build it myself) and flowmaster mufflers and the sound is grrrrreat!!! not so noisy in idle and when i floor it, it screams!!
and it relly woke up the engine

I'm goin 6 to 1 Hedman. Clifford Performance calims best performance with this. The other mod I must make is the Weber 2 barrel kit. My Carter 1 barrel is shot.
Who has the BEST prices? 4WD Hardware has the stuff, but it's a little pricey. I found the carb kit for $320 through www.windrockoffroad.com Thanks for all the feed back folks.
