Great work so far. Love the engine color choice. My wife's folks live right up 97 from you in Abington! Every time we are out there we drive through Scotland on the way into Norwich (more family there). I'll have to give you a shout next time I'm out there and see the progress in person.

U'll have to let us know if that header paint holds up, don't be upset if it doesn't. Good work so far, been following this thread...

Yeah i know about the paint, ive done it once already but didnt heat cure it, this time i heated it for 20 minutes at 200 degrees and 20 minutes at like 350 to 400. Will see what happens, now what about the hedder wrap would that be anything to think of, i like the look of it and it does get pretty hot under the hood when in the summer.

It will rot the header out. I was going to do it to mine also but decided against it because mud water and dirt would get soaked into the wrap and it would probably look like crap in no time. Unfortunately there are no real good options...

ok yesterday we fired it up and it ran ok i fouled a plug right off the bat, of course we put oil in the cylinders just to keep them lubbed up a little. we set the timing and i was off a little ways but we got it to fire and ran it for 22 minutes to break in the new cam. the cam and lifters took good but now im dealing with loud rockers, i used the ones that were on the engine in it but they had the aluminum bridges on them and when i switched them to the steel ones they were pretty lose and were clattering quite loud. other then that and a vaccum leak at the intake everything else seemed fine. looks like ill put a set of rockers in it and some spark plugs and will see what happens.

What did you end up doing for a cam?
