Hey guys looking at two tanks here trying to figure out the differences.
Obviously the filler inlet is smaller on the 78+ one

78+

72-77

But the dimensions on the site are what get me confused....
72-77 tank is 23"x16"x15" (5520ci)
78+ tank is L 30.00 / W 20.00 / H 17.00 (10200ci)

Is this an error on the site or is the latter one really that much bigger externally? If so what accounts for the additional ci since they are both 21 gallon.

I think you have a typo? Dimensions of 30x20x17 is 10,200ci? Is the second one in another measurement system?

Haha yeah apparently I do... But that even drives home my point more are these truly the correct dimensions? Or are they both the same.

I even called omix and they confirmed these dimensions.... I'm not sure if I buy it.

There are 231 cubic inches in a gallon. The 72-77 tanks dimensions you state yield 44 gallons. This is the shipment box size and not the tank size (big difference due to the filler neck).

No, they say the newer style is larger. Not the older style.

I understand the external dimensions and capacity do not line up, that's why i'm confused. I called morris 4x4 and they said these are the exact dimensions of the tank not the box and the newer one is larger externally due to internal baffles.... (they would have to be big a$$ baffles).... He said "although they look similar the newer style is larger externally." This just plain doesn't make sense to me

I also called Omix-ADA directly and they confirmed the dimensions I list above. Again it doesn't add up to me. I'm thinking retailers and the manufacturer both have it wrong.
