I hope not!! I bought a '80 model in about that shape that had been in a garage for 10 years with 47K miles on it not long ago. After all the new stuff and lift, I have half that in it!!

I'm sure someone out there is willing to pay that much for it. Looks like it is a turn key semi stock rig. To be truthful, if I were going to pay that much for a rig it would have to be ready to tackle the most difficult trails known to man. LOL If I owned that rig, I'd be afraid to get a little scratch in it.

Hey, if someone is looking for an original jeep in mint condition looks like that's it. My dad's got an 85 scrambler bone stock with under 3500 miles on it and he's been offered $30K for it. Finding a 77 in that shape would be tough. Collins bros has a similiar jeep (john wayne paint job somebody did to it) for about the same price. I wouldn't ever pay that for a jeep, but when you look at what a new TJ costs and the fact that I would never want any jeep but a CJ, it's not all that bad.

Christ! I bought my 86 Renegade almost two years ago, with 55,000 miles for $4500 Canadian, thats $3650 US. Even after the lift, tires, bumpers ....... I still don't have half of that in it. And mines not beat up, rusty, or anything, the only problem is it isn't the original color and dosen't have the original stickers. Does that devalue it that much? Don't think so!

Slow down, gang. The most recent bid is at $9100 not 20k. The guy has 4 days left and it looks like he is hedging his bets with the buy it now price of 20k. I hope he gets a good offer, that is one of the nicest original CJ's I have ever seen - a real sacred cow. I am planning to move to Beaufort, S.C. within the next six months, and I hope I can find a rust free CJ. I am willing to spend more to get a cleaner vehicle. I gave up looking here in the northeast, where CJ's rust as fast as an apple browns!

I currently have the high bid. Somebody else was watching the auction and emailed me. He said that he has mint CJ-5 with 29k on it on it that belonged to Al Unser. He said he is putting it on eBay on Saturday. Starting bid is 11.5k with a 16.5k BIN. Of course, it is likely a scam.............
