2-3" Lift...How?

I have a Cj7 1979 and I need to replace the shock absorbers. I'm pretty sure I have read places that you can get a lift like that by upgrading shocks or getting shocks for F-150 and the such. I was wondering if anybody knew anything about this? Thanks

Shocks will not get you any lift.

The only way to get lift is with springs http://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=402H

or with a taller body bushings, but this is not recommended
