1985 cj7 project

New to the site. Just got my first jeep last week off a friend who had no use for it anymore. It had a bad engine and was planning on doing a chevy swap with a 454. Suspension is in good condition. Floors are questionble at best. The project came with a rebuilt 454, turbo 400 transmission with novak transfer case adaptor for dana 300 and the motor mounts to install it all. Ill post up some pics as soon as the forum lets me.

You can learn just about anything you want about CJs here. Most people are very helpful. If I can help in any way, just yell.

454! Yikes! Better get out your shoe horn. Wish you the best.

I'm trying to post pocs of my build but they are too large no matter how much I resize them. I have a photobucket account if tgis forum has a way I can upload them that way. My last forum was a chevelle forum about 3 yeaes ago so I'm a little rusty on how this works.

Good looking cj. Cooling is probably going to be the biggest task. My buddy put a built up amc360 in his cj 5 and he had to do an aluminum radiator, hood vents and electric fan with an on and off switch. Looking forward to seeing more on this. Good luck 👍

A lil bit of simple green and a high psi power washer took care of loose paint and grunge while some simple undercoating spray sealed things up.
