I just picked up a 21 circuit harness from EZ wire.. I got it off ebay for $150 is shipped.. they also sell 18 circuit kits for a really good deal. Ive "repaired" several harnesses in the past and decided its not worth the head ache. Im very happy with the harness I got and so far its been very easy to install. I ran out of time before summer to finish it but all the wires laid out nice, every thing is labeled every few inches but nothing is pre terminated like the painless kits. do you have a 4.2? If you do nows the time to do the Nutter bypass also. Fee free to ask any questions about the ez wire kit

Its $170 for the 12 circuit (I misspoke about the 18)
Figure another $20 for shipping. The ignition plugs are already set up and the other long skinny plug (blinkers horn etc) has the proper plug and the wires have the terminals on em you just need to plug them into the proper slots. The directions are good if you have any wiring experience. If not you they can be figured out pretty easy. The hardest thing about the wiring is that your jeep has a gm ignition, gm altenator ford solenoid and pretty sure ford ignition. So you end up having to flip flop back and forth between jeep, ford and gm. I can tell you that stock jeep harnesses are garbage. All of thier splices are crimped then wrapped with duct tape.. No lie!

eBay or a local part out CJ. Donor should be 84 to 86 for your wiper plug to be correct. Or you can cut yours out and splice into the older harness. I wouldn't go back too far as there are several fuse block changes around 79 to 82

I'm gonna chime in here once more then take my opinions other places.
I hope you realize if you go with another cj harness you are still using a harness that is minimum 27 years old and were shady when new.

I've seen 2 cj's catch on fire due to the under the dash wiring. One was a gonner.. The second the owner was able to pull over and extinguish the fire. The jeep still needed a new body and dash.

I recently picked up a yj from a guy that was driving down a GA windy dirt road when his lights went out. He rolled the jeep and is now a quadriplegic. When instarted to go through his harness to weed out the in needed wires I found one heavy red wire that was wrapped around the rest of the smaller wires that had melted causing damage to multiple other wires..'I got a dollar says that what caused his head light issue.

Here's a eBay harness

I just hate to see some one put that much work into a jeep and use shady/qualestionable parts.
