1979 CJ7 258 EGR VALVE OEM #'s missing

Does anyone know how to determine what EGR valve you need when the OEM #'s are missing from the sticker on front of the EGR valve. I pulled it off and there are no #'s anywhere. Trying to get it smogged in california and the EGR came up bad, no problem went to NAPA and they said there is three to choose from and I will need the OEM # - HELP!

The Jeep part # is J324 0187 for a California EGR for a 258. See if NAPA can cross the number for you. Or call your local Jeep dealership and see how much they will take from you.

Thank you for a quick reply, but I have a part 2

While I was trying to investigate which EGR I needed, I kept running into Automatic or Manual. Mine is a Manual 3 speed. Will this be a determining point in the J324 0187 choice?

Yes, J324 0187 is for the manual transmission (California) EGR. There are about 7 different part numbers for the ERG's in the CJ parts manual, but this is the one that is for your application.
