79 cj5 anniversary - boston...

great posts and great pics. i just bought one of these jeeps and it needs a ton of work, but it is all original, full documentation and has 55,000 miles on it. i am wondering if anyone knows of a garage in the boston area that might be qualified and experienced to help me with this rehab, preferably someone with significant sheet metal abilities. thank you in advance. will post pics of the project soon.

In Peabody there is a place on Washington Street (the town end not the Lynn end) called Pioneer. Stop by they have a lot of nice restored Willys and CJs in the showroom. It was an original AMC dealership. I used to live there and I had them do an oil change on my YJ once or twice.
I think this is it...not sure if Walnut was the side street...I don't think they moved...but I'd give them a call.

OH NO! I always wondered what the barely legible badge on my glovebox meant, and no one could tell me. I woulda spent more care restoring rather than replacing parts on my CJ, if I had only known it was so special.

Good excuse to get it repainted then I guess

I'm ready to place my order for a 2026 Golden anniversary edition CJ7. Ok, I'm restoring my CJ7 and painting it Gold. Should be done in 13 years!

I've also learned that sometimes... when people don't agree with you .... its best to hold them down and kidney punch them till they agree with you

You missed your calling.

Jerry Lewis would be jealous.

I recently found out my jeep is a silver anniversary edition. Trying to restore it back to it's original state. Luckily it came to me in great shape and without any major alterations. Does anyone have photos of the interior, dash, etc of the original SA edition CJ? Thanks to all who have posted so far. It's been a HUGE help.

Email me: ccordova@cmm-measure.com

I have tons of info and pictures. Do a frame up of my 82 CJ7 Jamboree now and will start on my 79 CJ5 SSA after. BTW, if anyone is interested, I am reproducing badges by pulling the dimensions off on an optical comparator, doing a CAD model, and printing them out onto a steel disc. Then I am applying resin and they come out looking very nice.
