I rent shop space from the auto hobby shop on Fort Meade. Pay for a bay and work on everything myself

I had my last day in the shop before hitting the road for Big Dogs. I dropped the exhaust as best I could and then heat wrapped the fuel lines, the brake porportioning valve, and the fuel pump. I also refined a little of the electrical work under the hood and behind the dash. Snapped a few pics of everything.

I wanted to throw these up here. These were the manifold gaskets I used for the C6 corvette manifolds I put on the motor. GM#21992620 I picked them up from my local GM dealership for about $20 a piece. I sealed up the exhaust and it was time to go to Big Dogs.

Funny story. Thursday I got up ready to get the Jeep loaded on the trailer. Motor fired right up. Was running a bit sluggish which was the same way it was running when I drove it home from the shop the night before. I figured I had a vacuum leak. So I sat there and let it run for a few. Moved the Jeep to the parking spot in front of my house and was watching ther gauges. Nothing seemed out of place then the motor just died. Went to start it again and it wouldn't turn over. There is a ton more to this story but basically at the end of it all was about 2 hours waisted in trouble shooting for a bad battery to be the culprit. New battery installed and had no problems all weekend with the Jeep. Ran dual fans several times with the KC lights and never saw the battery volt gauge drop below 14volts. So it was a win. Better the battery to go out on me at home then on the trails.

Here are a few pics snapped at Ice Breakers. Nothing much yet. We had to split off during the day and I didn't get to hit all the hardcore trails like I wanted but I have plenty of time to wheel going forward. I led the stockers out on the trails and tried to introduce them to Big Dogs as best as we could. Also had 4 Warriors come out this weekend which was awesome!

One of the things I just didn't get done before heading to big dogs was 4 Wheel to Heal stickers. 3 Jeeps Offroad has teamed with us to do our vinyl work and they have come up with some pretty inexpensive bad @$$ stuff. So when I got some down time and the weather permitted I cleaned the Jeep up and tossed them on. I think everything came out great. Even tossed them on the tow rig.

Loving every minute of it. Been kind of weird these last few dayss not having to jump out of bed with limited sleep to go work a Jeep...lol. Guess I'm still decompressing after these past two months. The motor ran phenominally and I couldn't have asked for more. The first day took a little getting used to. A key indicator in the Small Block Chevy I was running was when it went silent it had died. So with the LS any time I let off the throttle this weekend the motor was virtually silent. Took me forever to get used to it...lol. I had that motor sideways, vertical, and pointed straight at the ground a few times and she never hesitated, lagged, or showed any signs of having trouble. So despite the money it cost me to get to this point it was a win win. Everyone was drueling over it too...lol

That's awesome! I'm feeling relief after the oil pressure thing, so I know you are feeling really relieved it ran so good! I wish I could wheel with you guys sometime.

Cheers!
