1979 cj-7 is this a good deal??

have the chance to buy the jeep for $700.00
it have a amc 401 quadtrack.
but he has a dana 20 transfer case
with dana 44's from a scout
has some rust and one iffy spot on the frame.
i do weld. do you think i could weld the frame?

Yea, would like to see. To post a pic, you need to upload your pics on some other site like your own web page or a web host like Yahoo. There are a lot of places to upload your pics. After you have an uploaded pic, go to it and right click it. The do a copy of it's URL. The paste it in the thread.

Someone, please chime in if I've done this wrong. You can also go to test site and find out how to post pics.

PS - sounds like a great deal. Ask the guy what gear ratio it is and if the diffs are locking diffs. What size wheels and tires? What shape is the interior in?

interior is ok (some holes in floor more welding)
i think the gear ratio is 3.54
and i'll call on the lo0cking part but i think not.

It's worth more than 700 in parts, so you could always buy it, and see what yuo're getting into afterwards. If you think later you don't want to tackle it, part it out and recoup your money plus some gravy money too!
