1978 CJ7 Engine Ticking Noise Help!!

I was hoping to find some help on here (my first post). I just bought a 1978 CJ7 304 3 speed and the engine has a ticking noise. I'm no mechanic nor do I pretend to be but what I speculate is the noise is the exhaust gasket on the drivers side manifold. I dropped it off at a shop to have the gasket replaced and the manifolds resurfaced and will be picking it up later today (hopefully the issue is solved). In the case this has not fixed my issue what could it be? (lifters? valves? Rocker arms?)

Could be your valves. A new set of heads would fix that if you like to spend money. But there's a few more things it could be but with jeeps you wanna start with the cheapest thing it could be and work your way up
