is the 1978 258 the same as a 1988 258?

found this, wondering if its worth it and if it will work on my jeep

the carb and intake is what i would like

will it bolt right on, or not at all?

You would have to change your exhaust manifold.

It looks like it has the thinner flanges that will work with stock exhaust manifold for aluminum stock manifold or headers.

You would have to exchange the exhaust manifold with one from an 84 or later 258.
