i have mine almost completely done and only worked on it a day and all i have left is the engine. everything else is wired and working as it should. i am very very pleased with the harness and would recomend to anyone with any skills at wiring to get one.

Thanks for the info!

I run a 2 1/2 BDS on stock hangers. Inspect them for any damage (cracks or bending) if they look OK and the bolts are tight you will be fine. If you wheel it hard you may want to upgrade later.
Hope that helps! I like your 5
How do you like the duratracks? I'm looking at them for my jeep.

The Duratracs are awesome. I cant hear them at all, but that may change once they start to wear good and I have had them to Uwharrie a time or two. I haven't had it offroad yet since I put them on either. I wont be wheeling this CJ that crazy, so that may aid in my decision to replace the hangers.
And thanks!

My project for the night/weekend, when I am not studying for my finals next week: lift, body lift, and a new stabilizer will be going on. Only a month AFTER I ordered the lift.

After breaking one of the bolts to my hangers, my Friday night Jeep fix was over. Went to get some grade 8 bolts to replace them with this morning and I got all of the way home and realized I didn't have a drill bit to work with, so back to the store I went. I have one leaf almost on and that's it. I did manage to take the steering stabilizer off that I am replacing. My day of working on the Jeep is shot with my sons soccer game and a friends tattoo shop grand opening. I guess I will resume progress tomorrow. I have to study for finals sometime this weekend.

I cannot fathom how you can study for finals and have a new set of springs just lying there... waiting... begging... calling your name! At least, that's what happens to me. Good luck on the semester ending.

Well, I got the front drivers side leaf and spring finished. I also got the stabilizer installed. No pics since everything that could go wrong has. The good news is, I am prepared for all shortfalls now. I had to resort to cutting the bolts that hold the leafs on, which in turn messed up the bushings in the stock leafs. The stock leafs were claimed by jcal, so the bushings will need to be replaced.

on the paint, i've use tractor supply paint before and suggest it for a middle road between good auto body,(ppg, dupont....) type paint, and rattle can(which I hate and is way expensive for hole jeep). i've got it around here from Rural king, they have some hardner like $8 a little can, i'd suggest using it. and on color, i'd go with what ya like, but i'd suggest to stay away from red. any red paint like to fade, if not well kept up, and I like tractor paint but it isn't going to hold up as well as high end, so dont' make it worse for yourself then needed. personally I'm a big white fan, holds color well, and looks good clean or little dirty, Just MO.
And on the radio, you should have a spot in the fuse box you can plug an end into, just use a test light see what is power with key on or all the time, then will depend on if you want there radio to be able to be on all the time, or you can run a wire from the battery too.

Thanks, Clyde. I am mechanically inclined, but electrically challenged. I'm not a fan of red vehicles in general, and there are entirely too many red Jeeps around. It will be tractor paint unless my budget allows me to buy AMC original brown mocha paint. I may make this a moderate wheeler, and buy a 7 to restore to near factory condition with very little mods.

Well, I took a break for lunch, plus I had to go get more cutoff wheels. I am almost 3/4s the way finished. I'm glad I can work at my own pace and not have a time table. The fronts I took my time and really struggled taking the old u bolts off. When I got to the rear, I said F that, I'm cutting them off.

Lift is finally on. I had to cut, beat, cuss, and drill EVERY bolt that has anything remotely to do with the suspension. If I was to total up time involved it would be well over 12 hours. Bear in mind I did this with no air tools since my compressor doesn't run the air gun that came with it. Having said that, I'm glad I did it myself. I will take some pics and put them up tomorrow. After my shake down run, the lift has achieved a minimum of 3", and in the right rear it got me a little over 4". That's attributable to a sagging spring I believe.

Here are a few pics. I still need to put the 1" body lift on and have some patches welded in. Then I can put the Raptor Liner on.

Looks Great! Thanks for the shot of the tire up front.
I think you have helped me make up my mind about the duratracks. I like em!
Get some PB Blaster and spray the nuts for the body mount bolts.
You will need to drill some small holes to access most of them with the spray straw.
When you are taking those out use only hand tools and take your time.
It can be frustrating if you spin one of the captured nuts inside the body.
Jeff
