This is all good advice and sounds like fun if I didn't have a job! Anyway, keeping things in perspective...as mentioned above...looking for daily driver with some umph...would like to get 10mpg or above running 35's with 4.10 (pipe dream?). Might consider Howell TBI depending on how much everything else costs and then take all that time and effort mixed my with experience and skillset (which is limited), multiply times my desire and ability to learn, subtract all the stuff that MUST be done by a shop and the quality of a local shop and then compare all that to buying a Titan in Ocala which is about an hour and 1/2+ away. Hmmm......

So if this engine has been sitting awhile, could the lifter problem (not pumping) work it's way out and actually be nothing or is definitely indicative of having to put money in to it? I'm sure the answer is "all of the above".

Did you mean "David Vizard's How to Port & Flow Test Cylinder Heads (SA Design)"? Thanks!

That's the one. How to Build Horsepower is great, too. Lots of valvetrain, intake and exhaust stuff in it.

They make high compression rebuild kits on ebay for all 360's.
