1975 cj5 vs 1976 cj5

What kind of changes did jeep make between 75 and 76 beside the frame. witch one is the better jeep. I think I have the years right or is it 1977. Thanks

Biggest difference is in the windshield frame angle and mounting setup. Also, up to 76 the frames were "C" channel. In 77 Jeep went to the better boxed frame. Not too awful sure of the other differences.. mostly minor.

The frame on a '75 is relatively straight from front to back. On the '76+ they get wider in the back. I think that was also the switch from Dana 44 rear to AMC 20. Dash changed from single gauge with spartan switches to multiple gauges, idiot lights, switches, etc. Tool box deleted from the passenger side of the tub, and I believe high back seats with a slider frame and 3pt belts became standard in the front.
