1974 CJ5 Leaf spring question

I have a 1974 CJ5 and I was putting on new shocks when I happen to notice that my left (drivers side) rear leaf spring only has 5 leafs and my right (passengers side) has 9. I looked in the 4 wheel drive hardware manual and both sets of springs were options for 1972-75 Jeep CJ5's. Is it possible that it came this way from the factory? I have only had the Jeep for about a year and it is pretty much stock. I put a level on the bumper and it is level.

look at how many leafs the front have, wether they are the HD spring packs or not and also look at the spring bushings to see if they look newer then the rest. i would assume that somewhere down the line that a rear leaf was busted and instead of replacing both they replaced one.

I just replaced the bushings. They were all shot. All seemed to have about the same amount of wear. The front has 7 springs per side. Im guessing that it had to be replaced at some point.

if you have 7 leaf packs in the front then you should have 9 leaf packs in the rear. if the 5 leaf pack isnt a replacement pack then it may have just had some of the leafs removed. it didnt come from the factory this way. if its not really a problem dont worry bout it, if it bugs you, replace both rear springs.
