1970 cj5 question

Im looking at buying a 70 cj5 and when i went to drive it today there was two shifters, one for the transmission and only one for the transfer case up by the fire wall. When i got home and started looking at different 70 cj5's there were two shifters for the transfer case. Is this normal or is something wrong with it?
Thank you
Mitchell

its either a warn overdrive or a twin stick conversion for your transfer case

a factory 70 V6 would have only the single shifter for the transfer case.
a factory 70 4 cylinder would have two shift levers.
and of course by now, who knows what it could have.
and the OD could be used with both.

Will the dash out of a 73 cj-5 fit in a 70 cj-5?

The overdrive is an after market option and will probably cost you $700-$800, less if your lucky. I've gotten two off ebay, expensive! Also you'll need to know the spline count and teeth count of your transfer case to get the right overdrive.

Advanced Adapters bought the rights to Warn OD's and call them Saturn now, unless something's changed in the last year or so. Another is hermtheoverdriveguy.com.
