Exhaust installed. Need to bend one mroe piece to exit it out before the spring mount. It sounds pretty cool, however i do have some hesitation, and it has a "loopy" idle. Heres the sound.

That thing has some serious balls. It sounds like my 66 mustang at low RPM.

Very Great JOB!!! I am pleased to see that some of the younger generation still has ambition and the drive to see such a project through! Also, that you aren't afraid of a little hard work and some busted nuckles!! This thread gets a crawl for sure!!!

thanks
DUE TO MY CURRENT SITUATION
I will be sending the baja ss seats back, and getting my ~$300 back. I have found some bestop classic low back seats for a great price, and will be ordering them first thing in the morning. I drove the Jeep down the lane a few times today also, and I got plenty of power now...onto the electrical, then paint, then lights then title and plates, then WELL DRIVE!

It will take a long time. I have found that the most time consuming part is cleaning and paint. I did it right, disassemble everything, and painted everything separately. Then putting it back together might take awhile too...
----------------
Other seats should be here by next Thursday at the latest, look for an update then.
Today I DROVE the truck on the road. I have a nice flat 1/4 mile stretch in front of our lane on the hard surface road. Not much traffic, being a back road, so I went up and down the road a few times testing the brakes, adjusting them, and adjusting the toe.
My impressions of driving it. Bouncy. Grip it plentiful (almost threw me out of the cab). First gear is short, second is long, third is longer, overdrive is an overdrive. My speedo said I hit 60 at about the quarter mile mark. I can spin the tires easily (no weight). After I got the brakes dialed in, I can stop as good as any other car on the road. Steering wonders (need to adjust steering box). I am having some trouble. In second gear around 35 MPH I feel like I loose a lot of power all of a sudden. Carb adjustment? Or timing?

Ok looking into my lights, I want to use LED lights for the tail lights. Any suggestions? I want to run H4 bulbs for the head lamps. I am going to use my CJ-3b's head lamp buckets. Anyone know of what part # will fit, Prefer H4, but a halogen will do just fine I guess.
I have also learned, that if the vehicle in question had no side markers, it dosn't need to have them fitted if it was made before side markers were mandated by the government.
Quadratec sill hasn't shipped my seats. The tracking thing says "to be picked"

GUESS WHAT!!
My seats are in! Amazing only 36 hours (after they left the warehouse) they arrived at my house. I payed $85 each for these seats, and they fit nicely, though not as comfy as the other seats...
Also I got all my paint supplies. My friends at E&M hooked me up with some EPOXY primer and urethane color, for a staggering price of $330...thank GOD it was out of my dad's pocket
Also, I dumping the exhaust out the side, like I show in my pics.
I am going to paint the firewall and interior of the Truck with rattle cans, just because it will be a little easier in the long run, with taping and "papering" it up when I spray the paint in the booth I am borrowing.
PICS:
YOU KNOW YOU ARE RESTORING A JEEP WHEN: the driver opens the garage door and helps you get the seats out of the box and asks to hear the thing run This UPS driver has been delivering my stuff for the last 2 years!
YEAH...I have been working on it.
MY ARRAY OF PAINT SUPPLY'S

I need sun glasses just to look at it...this is the color I will be painting it. I did the interior with Spray cans...3 cans....more than I thought I would use. I only have one more for teh firewall. But still it doesn't look bad for spray paint job. I had it matched, so its lacquer enamel. You can see some of teh imperfections, because I didn't sand the primer with a high enough grit sand paper (I used 400) I should have used 1200 or so.
Firewall will be tomorrow.
ITS RED!
Im a messy worker...

I've learned that if it's not smooth in primer, the topcoat sure isn't going to be smooth either. I usually wetsand the primer to 2000-grit after it's dried overnight, then shoot the topcoat. There's a million different ways to paint and sand, and I'm no expert.
That looks pretty good, though. I'm going to like the red. I'm hoping to get the wagon in primer and painted over the summer.

I'm by no means an expert on paint, but I'm pretty sure 2000 grit is way too smooth for paint because it won't have anything to "bite" to. Here's a good thread on when to use what grit of sandpaper:
